Reaching into our inner child and setting "our" goals for the future.

Hello Readers, I know I have not written in a while, I will admit I have been lazy and due to senioritis lacking motivation to do anything, although I did want to give you all an update.

I am attending UNC (University of Northern CO) in the fall and am planning to major in English as a second language and minor in American Sign Language. I am very excited. I was accepted to the CUMBRES program, which is a scholarship program for teachers. It’s also a learning community where I am living with other students interested in my major.

I have also received some awards for some writing pieces I submitted to the Scholastic arts and writing award, I received a silver key, which was quite exciting.

I am getting pretty pumped for the end of the year. This year went very fast, as did all four years, really. We think we have all this “time” and then we realize that the “time’ is now.

I am working with children this summer at an art camp and am very excited, kids are certainly some amazing beings in this world. I believe we are all born pure, honest and with good intentions, although it’s others that show us hatred, limits and brutality. Kids have no limits and that’s what I love about them, they can teach us that we can trulydo anything if we put out minds to it.

They’re not at the age when people are saying you “should” do this or “shouldn’t” do that. They just do what needs to be done for them and I think that’s truly what we need to learn.

We define our goals and our outcome in life and instead of worrying about what’s next or what we need to do, we should try to reach into our inner child and live in the moment, with no limitations or goals that others have set for us.

Love
-Jasmine
