Finding the Value in Ourselves
This is to Jazz and all of us who have experienced similar things with relationships in our lives. Often figuring out our own worth simply because we exist as human beings on the planet, not necessarily because of anything else we do, can be a painful and even long process. But the important thing is that we keep moving towards that knowledge about ourselves. We have our good friends, family members, children, and our cherished pets in life that can help remind us of this when we get a little or a lot lost along the way. Congratulations to Jazz and all of us for reminding ourselves of this. Keep singing!

Susan, I agree! It can be especially difficult to access roots to one's 'self worth' when we adopted people know so little about our roots and human connections to begin with. Thank you for sharing your wise post with us. Much Love from a snowy winter wonderland in Germany, Jen xx
P.S. Lately I have been imagining my grandmothers -- all 4 of them (2 adoptive grans, and 2 bio grans) -- and recreating their stories and lives so that I can feel more connected to them, to my history to the human family and as you say, to my intrinsic sense of self worth. Non-adopted people can struggle with feelings of self worth and esteem from time to time, but it can feel even more bewildering when we have lost access to our roots.
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate the support. Also I definitely agree we learn something new about ourselves everyday and the more we grow and change the more of our real selves I think we become.
