On a lark five summers ago I decided to travel to Istanbul by myself. I had always dreamed of going to Turkey since I was a little girl. So I thought, if not now...then when?
Istanbul exceeded my expectations. Breakfast included fresh dates, figs, fruit, yoghurts and cold cuts with homemade bread. The people were welcoming, and I felt utterly transformed during my visit to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and most of all, to the Turkish baths with their enormous round marble slabs and scintillating skylights. I highly recommend a trip to Turkey, and I can't wait to go again. It is an absolutely stunning city. They say that Istanbul is where "East Meets West." Istanbul is definitely one of the most exciting cities in the world. Much love from my writer's retreat , Jennifer
