There is a lot in my past one should know about... But so much that one would have to be very close to me to truly know it all.
For example, I used to live in Spain an could speak fluent native Spanish. Upon moving to the states, I lost much of it, but don't have an accent like others when speaking it now.
Like many other adoptees, I was raised in an all white community, kept in the darn from the context of my own culture and people. The strong psychological effects that this caused me still are evident in me today. Though I am a competent person, I have always been bullied for my race and a culture that was stolen from me. I came to deeply resent myself, not giving myself credit for my character and abilities. I came to resent my mother and the neighborhood where I lived.
There is a lot on my convoluted past one should know about, and a lot I am not keen to share. I have condensed my past into an unrepresentative nutshell in this instance. In order to know more, one would have to be a very close friend, as I am not encouraged to share the details. My past has been very painful and regrettable... by both myself and my adoptive mother.
